Doves is a community development organization providing complete housing and mortgage solutions for local families in Costa Rica. The existing market for entry level housing remains virtually untouched with 1000’s of eligible families waiting for an affordable opportunity to purchase a home.

 

The founders of Doves have one common goal; find a solution to the challenges facing these families.

The results of effectively directing this passion was the formation of an experienced team of like minded people who have collectively built a successful business model that provides affordable housing opportunities for families in Costa Rica.
 

The product that Doves has developed and incorporated into the business model is simply a "housing and mortgage solution package", consisting of three components.

Number one is the design and construction of single family homes that meet the quality standards set by the mortgage providers. The purchase price of these entry level homes, including the lot, start at $27,000 USD for the lower income market and range upwards to $90,000 USD for the middle income market.

Number two is the support package offered by the company's in-house mortgage specialists to assist in the qualification process with pre-established lending institutions.


Number three is the relationship established with local foundations, employee associations and mutually beneficial networks that have large numbers of qualified buyers waiting to purchase a home.


The Doves business model provides a realistic and demonstrated solution to capture a large portion of the available market and assist many families in attaining their dream of home ownership.

 

 

Thousands of low and middle income families in the Costa Rican community have been excluded from the prospect of entering the housing market. The shortage of entry level affordable housing is felt in every area of the country.

 

Those affected are hard working families with permanent jobs and disposable income who consider their home to be the core building block for the future of the family unit.

 

A contributing cause to this shortfall is a lack of responsiveness from three vital areas;

 

1. Government Sector

The government housing bank provides a source of grants to help families but the process is long and the funds available do not meet thye demand.

 

2. Financial Sector

Financial institutions in Costa Rica have not aggressively pursued the entry level affordable housing market opting instead to focus on financing traditional high-end housing and resort development.

 

3. Construction Sector

As a result very few construction companies entered the entry level housing market, and those that remain build a limited number of homes each year.

These contributing factors have left 1000’s of families waiting for new entry level affordable housing opportunities.

 


Community Costa Rica” will be completed in stages by constructing new homes consisting of 30 to 100 plus affordable entry level housing units each.

CHECK OUT OUR CURRENT INITIATIVES

The resources needed to fund the building of the new homes will be raised through Private Investment in "Community Costa Rica" and used in combination with revenue generated from the sales of the homes during the development and construction period.  

Doves International Development has opened participation in "Community Costa Rica" to those who seek steady growth and good returns, all while giving back by placing their resources into initiatives that contribute to the betterment of the communities these developments serve.


Participation can be by one individual, by a group of individuals or by any corporate or philanthropic organization.
